What is the benefit of the program?
- High school credit appears on the transcript and distinguishes the student to colleges
- Provides credits toward graduation
Considerations
- The program varies by state – check with your state Board of Education
- In Illinois, the program requires 120 hours of instruction per year – this is achieved through Scouting sessions and camps
- Certification must be requested annually, with minimal administration
- We issue a Csik Hago School transcript to each high school together with the Ethnic Language School certificate
Challenges
- Each high school decides whether to grant the credit. In our experience, 8 out of 10 schools
give credit.
